In 2018, the company achieved a quadrupling of revenues in the cloud and subscription business, with the fourth quarter in particular standing out positively.
Matrix42 Fiscal Year 2018: Number of new customers significantly increased
A total of 243 new customers have expressed their confidence in Matrix42 in 2018. Among them are well-known companies such as BayWa, Accor Hotels, Kelvion, CompuGroup, Hannover 96, VFL Wolfsburg, Fastweb, tipico and adesso. Sales with new customers increased by 38 % compared to the previous year and were thus higher than ever before in the company's history. "Last year we increasingly gained larger customers, which also led to an increase of the average transaction rate by 16 %", explains Bendig. In total, Matrix42 now serves over 5,000 customers and manages more than six million digital workstations. With a contract renewal rate of 98 %, Matrix42 remains at the top of the industry, while also meeting its customer satisfaction targets. This is also reflected in the sales results of the Customer Service and Consulting division, which grew by 27% in 2018.
Matrix42 Fiscal Year 2018: Security is third largest portfolio element
Security solutions revenue grew 54% compared to 2017, making security the company's third largest portfolio element after integrated solutions for digital workplace management and unified endpoint management. In 2018, Matrix42 expanded its security offering by acquiring EgoSecure, the leading German provider of endpoint security solutions. In addition, as part of a strategic partnership signed in 2017, enSilo products were integrated into the Workspace Management Suite of Matrix42. Bendig: "Only a managed, digital workspace is a truly secure workplace. Therefore, Endpoint Security is omnipresent and the demand for integrated solutions is very high among our customers. With our Endpoint Security solution, we offer 360-degree security management for prevention and protection of devices, applications and data. With our solutions, we prove that it is possible to protect the work environment and simultaneously increase user productivity".
Matrix42 Financial years 2018: Internationalization expanded
The internationalization of the company was also further expanded in 2018. In the previous year, the international division delivered the best results since the start of geographical expansion. In particular, the Alpine region, France and Italy performed very well. In Eastern Europe - Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary - the company made a successful market launch in 2018 as planned.
Matrix42 Fiscal Year 2018: Partner Business and Matrix42 Marketplace develop positively
The focus on partner business, which has been accelerated for several years now, is having an effect: Revenues with channel partners were increased by 10% in 2018. "We are sticking to our goal of generating 80% of our business with partners by 2020. By 2019, we want to increase partner revenue to 70% already," says Bendig. "Our new partner program will support the achievement of this goal. It is a program that rewards and expands existing partnerships, but is also attractive for new partners. Currently, we are mainly looking for partners who would like to offer a holistic Digital Workspace portfolio or who have experience in the security environment". Business with product enhancements from partners via the Matrix42 Marketplace is also growing steadily. In 2018, this area recorded a 10 % increase.
Business Focus 2019
Matrix42 currently employs about 350 people. In 2019, the company will continue to focus on providing its customers with simple, integrated solutions for digital workplaces and on further growth through innovative products. "The main focus will be on the integration of ITSM, UEM, SAM and security functions and the further expansion of our international business," said Bendig.
