The company’s mid-year results are proof of the success of its strategy.
Matrix42 is changing its management structures as it seeks to focus more on meeting the needs of its customers and usher in the next phase of growth. As part of the changes, long-time employee and Vice President R&D Dirk Eisenberg will be taking over as Chief Technology Officer on 1 September 2020. Roberto Casetta, who previously served as Vice President Global Sales, will become Chief Revenue Officer in charge of marketing and sales for the entire company.

To deliver on this promise, we at Matrix42 require an organization and management structure that makes us more agile and flexible,” says Oliver Bendig, CEO at Matrix42. “This brings us one step closer to achieving our goal of being market leader in digital workspace management and puts us in a better position to serve our customers.” The mid-year results clearly demonstrate the potential of the company as well as the workspace management market as a whole in the “new normal.” To close out the second quarter, Matrix42 posted a 23 percent increase in new license revenue compared to the previous year, that in spite of the COVID-19 crisis. On the German market, Matrix42 posted a 31 percent increase in the 2nd quarter thanks in no small part to its acquisition of 142 new customers. The partner network now includes 85 companies across the globe with the addition of Telcat, ITHEC, Tower IT, and Gruppo ICS. Along with that, the workforce has grown to more than 450.
Strong growth in cloud and subscription business
The cloud and subscription business has shown exceptionally strong growth of 93 percent compared to the previous year. This gives a good idea of just how important a role cloud will play in the future on the workspace management market and in the Matrix42 product portfolio. Matrix42 set the course for further growing its cloud business and increased internationalization with the acquisition of the American assets intelligence provider FireScope. This means that all Matrix42 products will be available in the future as cloud services via Microsoft Azure. “Our ‘Cloud and Subscription First’ strategy allows us to make simple, secure, and integrated solutions available to our customers during the COVID-19 pandemic,” says Bendig.
Promoting Dirk Eisenberg to the position of CTO, where he will have around 150 employees working for him, also demonstrates the importance of the cloud at Matrix42. As a qualified IT specialist, he has played a major role in the consolidation of the product portfolio and the transformation to the cloud. “Dirk Eisenberg has been at Matrix42 since 2010. During this time, he has contributed significantly to our growth as a company thanks to his in-depth technical expertise. His experience in the transformation and scaling of enterprise software solutions will help us speed up the pace of innovation, something that our customers benefit from directly,” says Oliver Bendig. In addition to his strong background in technology, Eisenberg is well-networked on the market, which will help the company grow further. In addition to further enhancing the product profile, the expansion of international business is another key goal. This is a task Roberto Casetta will take on in his new role as CRO. “Having marketing and sales work more closely together is a critical factor in the success of software companies in today’s world,” says Oliver Bendig. “For current and prospective customers, this means higher quality support throughout the process, from initial contact through to final implementation.
