Over 60 new functions and improvements

Matrix42 is launching the latest version of its workspace management solution today. The latest release comes with more than 60 improvements, functional extensions and changes. It features server license management and an internal company address book in the Self Service Portal. Comprehensive productivity improvements were implemented in IT service management, where a new setup and maintenance API is now also available. “This version gives top priority to customer requirements and we implemented a wide range of enhancements and changes based on those requirements,” explains Oliver Bendig, CTO at Matrix42. One of our enhancements relates to Matrix42 Compliance, which now also offers server license management. It boasts agentless discovery for virtualized environments (Hyper-V, vCenter, XenServer) and agentless hardware and software inventory for servers. What’s more, it’s possible to centrally manage discovery and inventory scans. Microsoft Server licensing models are supported and licensees are assigned accurately. Internal company address book in the Self Service PortalThere is one major innovation in Matrix42 Service Management. The Self Service Portal now offers Matrix42 customers a central address book for all employees. It displays entries for employees, business contacts and partners and allows users to download business cards in *.vcf format. It is also possible to integrate Google Maps and Bing Maps. In addition, the Self Service Portal was optimized to make using the portal even easier. Among other things, it is now possible to add multiple affected users to a complaint and in the standard configuration, users can order combined services with a single click.Productivity improvements in Service CatalogService Catalog now allows users to quickly reorder previously completed orders and approve, reject, or return optional elements in service sets, groups, or bundles. Users can automatically create return bookings for obsolete requirements. It is also possible to individually define the provision order of elements in combined services. Increased operability of Service Desk The changes made to Service Desk aim to increase operability. This means that recurring changes for regular, workflow-driven requests can now be planned the same way as recurring tasks for any regular activities. Announcements and notes can be formatted using HTML and HTML content and images can be inserted in tickets. Users can now also close multiple tickets in one operation. Setup and maintenance APIIt is now possible to automatically install system requirements using PowerShell. In addition, users can take advantage of a setup and maintenance API for Matrix42 Workspace Management to automatically perform installation, configuration, and updates.
